Project Proposal

A Meriwether Lewis Institute project proposal developed by me and four other emerging University leaders. HealingHoos aims to tackle the rising crisis of mental well-being at UVA by fostering a culture of rest and open dialogue. The ideas presented in this project lived on as key building blocks in transformative University policy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Identifying Key Stakeholders

Fellow Students

Students are naturally the first priority when it comes to a project of this nature. My team remained in constant communication with fellow students at the Meriwether Lewis Institute.

UVA Office of Student Affairs

The UVA Office of Student Affairs is a key stakeholder in this project due to their ongoing support of initiatives that enhance or otherwise support the student experience.

UVA Office of Health Promotion

The Office of Health Promotion was perhaps the most directly-involved group in deterring the feasibility and execution of our ideas.

UVA Faculty

Faculty were able to provide insight on student habits and needs as they related to academic concerns.
